Georgia Mountain Adventure - Sept 25/26/27 - Road ...

Well done Bruce on organizing a great event.  Good to see so many new and "established" faces.

I got to ride some roads that I had not before, and shared stories in some great company.  Excellent.

As the weather was so nice I took the long way home Sunday.  North to Dial then Aska Rd. onto Blue Ridge, crossed the valley then south via Sugar Creek to Ellijay, then crossed the valley again and blasted south on Yukon Rd. and Ga 53 onto Nelson and Ball Ground, finally hopped onto I575 and on for the final stretch.  Some short sections of twisties, but much longer sections of faster sweeping roads.  Perfect!

Red bikes just look fast. I am sure that is the explanation

This is a video of the Saturday 10 AM road ride. It was a leisurely pace as usual.  We ended up making a loop through this little country road and one-way bridge that was pretty cool.

Joining a GMA ride is easy, it's trying to keep up with Geoff that's the hard part.

Geoff,

Thanks so much for leading one of the road rides!  To the tarmac junkies out there...
Last year was my first GMA and I brought my F800ST.  While the off roaders were getting muddy we roadsters had a blast on the North GA (and some NC) paved twisties!

Please join Geoff and the rest of the us and come up for what will be a great weekend of riding, food and story-telling!

Thinking of joining the GMA event but you only have a street bike? No problem! I will be leading a ride that is all paved roads for riders who are more street oriented.  We'll be leaving from TWO Suches on Saturday morning and stop for lunch in Blairsville. Should be back at the rally site by mid-afternoon.(2-3 PM)

You'll have plenty of time to relax and unwind before the complimentary steak dinner for registered participants on Saturday evening.

So if you were on the fence about the GMA because you aren't a dual sport rider, this is your invitation to join the fun anyway.

Hope to see you there. Details on the departure time and route will be posted at the GMA.
