Fellow riders....for what it's worth.
I'm old enough to know that life rolls on and things change. Bikes come and go. Friends, people and relationships often come and go.
Sometimes, however, indelible marks are made by people and events which come along at unexpected good times.
Below is a link to the slide show created (thanks Howard Albritton) after the 2008 GMR Rally at Bald Mountain Resort outside Hiawassee. Perhaps that Rally imprinted on me because it was my first-ever BMW rally and I had been riding for only a few months. Seems that some of those bikes are still running. However, I see faces of departed friends: George Frye, Dave Coon, Lyle, and perhaps others I never met but recall their presence. Maybe some of you will have your own memories.
Enjoy a few minutes of thinking about why we ride and why we like to meet people. Don't wonder about registering for and attending the 2016 GMR. Just do it and enjoy the moment(s).
