Good to catch up with folks and see some new faces at Simply Southern over breakfast today.
Jonathan and I took of afterwards for a loop via TWoS with the idea we'd be home before it got to be too hot.
We left Simply Southern at 10:30am and traveled via Big Canoe/Burnt Mountain/Big Creek to Dial Country Store for a 55-minutes lunch stop. Then on to TWoS for a 25 minute wander around the site/comfort break before heading via Damascus Church/Frogtown/Cavender Creek/Long Branch to Ga 400 and home by 3:15pm.
Had not ridden past Big Canoe for years, and all my recent trips along Burnt Mountain have been south bound in damp conditions, so this part was a nice change. Big Creek etc. are great open twisties with a few more technical corners thrown in, and are some of my favorite roads in the area.
Dial country store is a great refreshment stop if you are in the area. Lots of campers at TWoS (the all-concrete bike parking out front is a huge improvement).
Perfect weather, although it did get hot coming back on Ga 400 (we did have lazy lunch and comfort breaks, so no one but ourselves to blame).
Worth repeating.
