2017 MOA Rally -Utah
Author Last Post
Hey Ian, I also am planning to leave early on the 8th.  I have been looking at some routes that keep me off the Interstates.  I hope to see you and some of the club members out there!
I'm going, not sure of my route yet but plan to be on the road from 8th-27th July.

Here's a link to some interesting info from ADV Pulse on Utah riding.  Hopefully this will inspire a few more folks for an epic group ride from Georgia to Utah this summer.

The next bike I buy will be a GS, but for now I am definately interested in riding out there with Club members on my GTL.  Look forward to seeing more on this.

Bruce:
I met some GS Giants at the Billings Rally that had completed the entire Idaho BDR. They were from Boise. They said the BDR was just awesome. In fact they said they were worried that the BDR videos would bring a bunch of yahoos from the east coast out to mess around in their playground. I pointed to my Georgia plates on my GS and said "By east coast yahoos, I assume you're talking about KTM and Yamaha riders from my neck of the woods. "  They all laughed and said "Of course, yes...those sort of yahoos..the ones who trailer their bikes out here. Not GS riders."

So we'll have to get some "Official East Coast Yahoo" stickers for our side cases if we plan to ride Idaho.

I'm planning on going but thinking about doing 2 of the BCBDR routes (Colorado/Utah, or Colorado/Idaho) and ending up at the rally.

Next year's MOA Rally will be in the Salt Lake City area, July 13-15th. The riding in Utah is simply spectacular and I know there are a number of club members that have had a Utah trip on their bucket list.  We'll its time to circle your calendar and declare your interest in joining in the fun.

Depending on how much time you have available, this trip could include a northerly outbound route through South Dakota, the Bighorn range in Wyoming, Beartooth Pass and Yellowstone in Montana,  through Idaho and then down into Utah for the Rally. Return trip could be 3 days for the Iron-butt oriented, or 4+ days if you like to stay under 500 miles per day.

Who's interested?
