BMW Club News

This is the first post in the Club News blog that is intended to keep the members of the BMW MC of Georgia up to date on club events, rides, rallies and new members that have joined our club. We have an exciting slate of activities planned for 2017 and hope to see you at our next event. 

We recently wrapped up the 2017 Georgia Mountain Rally the first weekend in May. Despite some rainy weather on Friday, we still had a strong turnout and everyone who braved the Friday rain was rewarded with a good riding day on Saturday and fantastic weather for their return trip on Sunday.  This year's rally planning team did a great job making the rally a rain or shine event.   We had interesting speakers including humorist Jack Riepe and World Adventure Riders Simon and Lisa Thomas.

Our prizes just keep getting better every year. This year we gave away a Klim suit, Schuberth helmet, alpinestars riding gear, Jesse bags and ACMEMoto bags. Over $5000 in loot that was hauled away by some lucky folks. In addition to the winnings, the participants generously donated over $1000 to Motorrad Angels, (a group of BMW riders bringing clean water to developing countries), and hundreds more donated to the Town County Food Bank.

Our next rally event will be the Fall "Georgia Mountain Adventure" (GMA) to be held at TWO of Suches. Bruce Grant, who did such a great job organizing the event last year, will be assisting the organization of the 2017 GMA.  Look forward to more news about the GMA here on this blog
