What is this?
No Georgia Mountain Adventure this year, but we'll have a leisurely group (road) ride led by Mark Stiles leaving from Two Wheels of Suches at 10:30AM on Saturday, September 29th.
We'll ride the 145-mile "red" route shown and mapped on the GPX file linked for download below (very minor tweak just before Turtletown to the preliminary route shared earlier - adds a few more slow twisties.) Lunch at Katz’s New York Deli or Joe's BBQ by consensus in McCaysville, gas stop in Ellijay if needed, and a final stop for afternoon snacks at Dial Country Store/Van Zandt's Riverwalk Grill & Grocery. Return to Two Wheels will be around 4:00PM. Total riding time is about 3 hours and 30 minutes. If the weather is lousy there are short-cut options after lunch via Aska or Morganton.
So, timing should work for those who want to ride from/to the Atlanta area the same day as well as anyone camping at TWoS (it is highly unlikely that there are any cabins available for the weekend, but it might be worth a call to check.)
Please register for this event to help us plan the ride. If there is a large group, we may break into two groups.
